Surujrattan Rambachan, a prominent Ramayan scholar, bhajan singer, academic and politician, and Basdeo Narine Manmohansingh, County Councilor of St Patrick's County, brought Indian Arrival Day into Sharpe focus at celebrations held in Cedros after a landing ceremony and a sankirtan procession. TTT’s hostile report and the resultant controversy took the idea of Indian Arrival Day to the nation.

The First real large Indian Arrival Day Celebrations took place for many years in St Maries Village Cedros, and a Statue commemorating Indian Arrival Day  has been installed in Manmohansingh Park St Maries Village Cedros.
